Azmerit is an advanced technology company focused on the development and manufacturing of space-qualified instrumentation systems.

Azmerit LLC is also
engaged in the development of highly effective metal light-absorbing coatings. To date, the company has developed a unique nickel-phosphorus coating called “Anthracite-M.” The coating is designed to protect optical paths from scattered radiation and stray light.
The light-absorbing coating is an invention of Azmerit. A patent for the method of obtaining the coating has been obtained (RU 2830643).
Anthracite-M light-absorbing coating

The development and application of light-absorbing coatings on metal parts is carried out in the company's own laboratory. The laboratory is equipped with modern equipment and control and measuring instruments. Highly qualified laboratory specialists carry out all stages of the manufacturing and application cycle of the Anthracite-M light-absorbing coating. Currently, active work is underway to increase the effectiveness of the light-absorbing coating in the infrared range (1000-2500 nm).

The coating is a thin film of nickel-phosphorus solid solution, electrodeposited to achieve an absorptance of over 99.6% across the visible spectrum.

Presented in the figure is the spectral characteristic of the hemispherical reflectance R(λ) of the Anthracite-M light-absorbing coating.

Ultra-low diffuse reflectance values are achieved through multiple internal reflections followed by progressive absorption of incident radiation within the coating's microstructured surface morphology.

The coating is applied to the surface of metal parts of various configurations. It is possible to apply the coating to parts made of titanium, aluminum alloys, and steel.

Azmerit LLC applies coating to star sensor aperture cover parts. More than a hundred star sensors coated with Anthracite-M are operating in near-Earth orbit.
